No tool has paid for placement on this site. The methodology below is applied uniformly to every tool regardless of commercial relationship. Rankings are determined algorithmically by the criteria described on this page.
Primary Ranking Signal: Deployment Architecture
The single most important variable in LinkedIn automation account safety is the IP address LinkedIn records for your session. We rank by architecture tier first, because this determines the baseline detection risk for every user before any feature comparison begins.
Tier 1 — Desktop
The tool runs on the user's own machine using its own browser engine (not Chrome). LinkedIn records the user's residential IP. This is the architecture with the lowest structural detection risk. Currently one tool in our comparison qualifies: Linked Helper.
Tier 2 — Cloud
The tool runs on vendor-managed servers. LinkedIn records a vendor-assigned IP address. Detection risk depends on whether the vendor provides dedicated IPs per account (lower risk) or shared IP pools (higher risk). Most tools in this comparison are cloud-based.
Tier 3 — Extension
The tool runs as a Chrome browser extension. LinkedIn can detect both the residential IP and the extension fingerprint. This is the highest structural detection risk tier. Tools in this tier include Octopus CRM and Dux-Soup.
Secondary Ranking Signal: Price Within Tier
Within each architecture tier, tools are ranked by starting price (lowest first). Price is defined as the lowest plan that delivers meaningful single-account LinkedIn automation capability — not trial pricing or free-plan limits.
Evaluation Criteria
Each tool is evaluated across the following attributes. Values are sourced from vendor pricing pages and documentation, not from vendor-provided claims.
| Criterion | Source | How Used |
|---|---|---|
| Architecture type | Vendor documentation, product testing | Primary ranking tier assignment |
| IP model | Vendor documentation | Risk assessment within cloud tier |
| Starting price | Official vendor pricing page | Secondary ranking within tier |
| Free trial terms | Official vendor pricing page | Informational; noted in comparison table |
| Multi-account support | Vendor documentation | Agency use-case suitability |
| Email channel availability | Vendor documentation | Multichannel use-case coverage |
| CRM integrations | Vendor integration documentation | GTM stack compatibility assessment |
| G2 rating and review count | G2.com (verified reviews only) | User sentiment signal; not used in ranking |
| Trustpilot / Capterra rating | Platform review pages | Corroborating user sentiment signal |
What Does Not Influence Rankings
- Affiliate or referral relationships — we may earn commission on tool signups, but this does not affect ranking position
- Vendor outreach or PR contact — tools are not promoted in exchange for coverage
- Review volume alone — a tool with 1,000 G2 reviews does not rank above one with 50 reviews based on review count
- Feature list length — more features listed on a vendor page does not improve ranking
Update Frequency
Pricing is verified from vendor pages on a rolling basis. The "Pricing verified" date shown on the main comparison page reflects the most recent full verification pass. G2 ratings are checked at the same time. We aim to complete a full verification pass at minimum quarterly, and additionally when a vendor announces significant pricing or feature changes.
